LANDFORM PROJECTS

WOW!

I cannot believe the school year is just about over (5 school days to be exact). I have so many photos on my computer at home.. I will have to upload them tonight!!! Tomorrow is the last day for EOG retesting. This has been a great year and it has flown by!!! We have worked hard and have had a successful year! I am proud of everybody! June 7 is the last day of school! June 5 is awards day at 1:30 pm. June 4 is our class ball/pizza party Parents, please bring in two stamps for report cards so that they can be mailed to you or you will have to come to school to pick them up! As most of you know, I will be leaving to teach in China in July. I was so fortunate to have your students in my class this year. Room 401 April Newsletter

Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and are ready to end the school year right! We have a little time left before we are 4th graders, but still have a lot of work to do!

Please continue to study math and reading strategies at home with your child so they are better prepared for the End of Grade Test!

SPRING

Yay for spring! That means it is getting closer to the end of the school year! EOGs are quickly approaching and we have been reviewing many skills as well as learning new ones. At home, please continue to work with your child on these skills so they are well-prepared for the End of Grade test.

Chibi

This week we have been reading Chibi, a true story from Japan, which is about a duck family that lives in an office park pool in Toyko. They become famous because they attract the interest of a lot of people.

Well since we are reading about Japan, Ms. M decided to bring Japan to the class and heat up Odon Miso noodle soup, a popular broth soup of Japan.

Updates!

Morning Tutoring ends February 15, 2012.

Math – Your child should be practicing multiplication daily. I will be giving multiplication-timed tests to those who are ready. Please practice the facts EACH night. These facts are the foundation for many other math concepts. Students who master their facts will become very strong in math.

AGENDA: Please be sure to check and sign their agenda daily to see if there are any notes on behavior.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: At this time of year, we are running low on supplies. If you are able to donate any that would be greatly appreciated!

This month, we will be writing biographies of those who have made a difference for Black History Month. We will begin research and once we complete research about our person, we will begin the writing process. You can also use the Internet to research at home and to find interesting photos. Lots to do....so little time

Well 2nd Quarter is quickly coming to an end...
We are in the week of Quarter testing so study those multiplication and division facts and time!


This week we will have our Spelling Bee (Friday January 20 at 1:30 pm). Abigail Culpepper is our class representative. We are so excited to have her represent us and we know she will do her BEEEEEEEEEEEst!!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

CONTINUE WORKING HARD ON YOUR SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help you in any way that I can!

Continue working on mastering those multiplication and division facts with your child!

A few other reminders:

There is no school Monday January 23.
Science Fair projects due in by Next Tuesday January 24.
Curriculum/PTA/Science Fair night is Tuesday January 24. Come visit me at 5:30!
6:00-6:30 PTA meeting and 6:30-7:00 is K-2 Class visits.
Cupcake day is Friday January 27.
Report Cards will go home Tuesday January 31.
